Jump Mountain Grüner Veltliner
The national grape of Austria, Grüner Veltliner produces a crisp, refreshing white wine characterized by citrus flavors. Looking for a white varietal that would be suited to the climate of western Rockbridge County, Jump Mountain was among the first Virginia vineyards to experiment with this grape. The wine is half fermented in neutral French oak and half in stainless steel, with lees stirred to enhance the aromatics. Classic white pepper on the nose; citrus, green apple, and ripe pear on the palate, finishing with a zesty minerality. Pairs well with seafood (and fried chicken!)
